The Surprise Shockers took on the Beaumont Crossbeaus at Shockers Field.

Arvin Lawton never let Beaumont get something going. The Surprise right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Shockers to a 4-1 win. Lawton got the win, improving to 1-2. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Carlos Balderas nailed down the save.

Christian Wright broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fourth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Shockers in front, 2-1. For the game, Wright was 1-3, while adding 2 RBI.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Beaumont manager Ángel Macías.
