Meng Leads Beavers to 7-1 Win Over Rams
Ballard and Ladue got after it at Ballpark of Wellsville.

The performance of Kang Meng proved critical in helping Ballard beat Ladue, 7-1. The Beavers third baseman was 3-5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Teddy Harvey was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts.

With Ballard leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Meng came up to bat against Ladue pitcher Pedro Soto. Meng hit a fastball to right for a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Beavers on top, 5-0.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Meng told the Ballard News. "It's as simple as that."

The Beavers, at 15-11, sit in 4th place in the Silver Low A.
