The Beaumont Crossbeaus spoiled a good performance by Surprise center fielder Ryan Plaistowe, bumping off Surprise, 8-5, at Shockers Field. Plaistowe hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The win makes Beaumont 16-11.

Beaumont used the timely hitting of Allen Wright to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Crossbeaus on top, 8-5. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Wright told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
