The Philadelphia Liberty U-21 snuck past the Maine Sea Dogs, 5-4, in 10 innings. Philadelphia pitcher Willis Thomas, in particular, had a standout performance. The win belonged to Robbie de Groot in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Haico Ulderink took the loss for Maine. Philadelphia has now won 4 straight.

The game-ending blow was delivered by Mark Howard in the bottom of the tenth. That's when he hit a run-scoring double off 18-year old right-handed pitcher Haico Ulderink to win it for Philadelphia and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.

"Winning is contagious," said Howard. "We're looking forward to the next game."
