Flint pitcher Al Casey had a large part in his team subduing the Beaumont Crossbeaus, 3-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The winner was Casey. He threw 7.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Gabriel Pérez. Greg Bradford closed it out for Flint, earning his 2nd save.
Hong-yeol Cho dealt the Crossbeaus a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Flint leading 1-0, Cho, who is tied for 9th in the SA- in RBI with 17, hit a 1-1 sinker for a 2-run single.
"I went out and just tried to do my job," said Casey.
The 7th-place Crush lifted their record to 13-18.
