Baby Lakers Capture Close Win
The Bompton Baby Lakers picked up a win at Field of the Browns, knocking off the Philadelphia Liberty U-21, 4-3. On the mound for Bompton was right-hander Leonard Sheppard. He played a key role in the triumph. The Baby Lakers improved to a lofty 22-9.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Bompton shortstop Roy Elliott, facing Georges Boulet, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Baby Lakers the 4-3 win.

"This place was electric at the end," Elliott said.
