Crossbeaus Rally Late to Nip Crush
|
Led by Héctor Castro, the Beaumont Crossbeaus downed the Flint Crush, 2-1. Castro went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double for the Crossbeaus. The winner in relief was Iemochi Ueda. He is now 1-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Sebastian Pease closed out the game, earning his 4th save.
With the bases empty and no one out in the top of the seventh inning, left fielder Jordan Sercombe delivered big for the Crossbeaus. Beaumont was trailing 1-0 when he belted a solo home run.
"Tough loss," said Flint manager Rafael Longoria. "The kind that burns a little inside."
The triumph makes Beaumont 11-21.
