The Flint Crush got a superb performance from pitcher Dan Caine, but the Northwest Territory Beavers still won the game, 4-2. Caine threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Reliever Alberto Ramírez picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Dan Caine, who is tied for 7th in the SA- with a 0.79 WHIP, took the loss. Arturo Santos recorded his 6th save for Northwest Territory.
Yen-nien Ku drove in one run for Northwest Territory. With one out and the game tied in the top of the sixth inning, Ku, who is tied for 4th in the SA- in stolen bases with 4, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Flint hurler Kane White, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Beavers a 3-2 lead.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Ku said.
The 4th-place Beavers are now 17-15, the Crush 12-20.
