Ballard Beavers starter Steve Taylor turned in a top-notch performance against the Memphis Music at The Stage in Memphis. The result was a win for the Beavers, 3-2. Taylor went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 2-1. Paco Logrono finished to wrap up his 5th save.
Ballard took a 3-1 lead on Xue-qin Zhou's 6th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Memphis pitcher Armando Escalante in the top of the seventh.
"Steve just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Ballard manager Markus Richardson.
The Beavers are now 22-11, while the Music fall to 19-14.
