Bompton Beats Philadelphia in 11-Inning Thriller
|
The Bompton Baby Lakers, despite a fine performance by Philadelphia pitcher Bryan Miller, grabbed a 2-1 win in 11 innings at Field of the Browns. Miller allowed 1 run over 7.1 innings. The win went to Tommy Kramer in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Martín Machado took the loss. The Baby Lakers improved their record to 24-9 with the win over Philadelphia.
The decisive moment came in the bottom of the 11th for Bompton. That's when Edgar Sandoval hit a run-scoring double off 20-year old right-handed pitcher Martín Machado to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"The fact of the matter is that we had a shot to win," said losing manager Santiago Paez.
