Liberty U-21 Take Home 1-0 Win Over Surprise
Starting pitcher Willis Thomas gave the Philadelphia Liberty U-21 a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Surprise Shockers, 1-0, at Ballpark of Liberty. The winner was Thomas. He threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Jimmy Cooper. The win puts the Liberty U-21 at 21-13, while the Shockers drop to 14-20.

The win was a team effort for Philadelphia. Right Fielder Jesse Miller was among the key contributors. In the bottom of the fourth, he put his team in front, 1-0, when he hit a run-scoring single.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Miller.
