Warheads Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Amarillo Warheads faced a tenacious opponent in Surprise pitcher Martin Humphrey, but still scratched out a win at Shockers Field by a final score of 3-2 in 10 innings. Humphrey went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The Warheads go to 16-21, putting them 6th in the Silver Low A.
The outcome might have been different for Amarillo, had it not been for Neil Rogers, the 19-year old center fielder . Rogers stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put Amarillo up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We were determined to pick up this win," said Rogers.
