Liberty U-21 Rally to Win
|
The Philadelphia Liberty U-21 picked up a win at Trash Panda Field, knocking off the Watford City Trash Pandas, 3-2, in 10 innings. Starting pitcher Martín Machado played a key role in the triumph. The Liberty U-21, now 31-7, have won 8 in a row.
Machado, a native of Esperanza, Dominican Republic, was dealing all game. He kept Watford City hitters off-balance, while giving the Liberty U-21 9 quality innings. Machado threw 106 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 7.
"Martín kept his poise and got the job done," said Philadelphia manager Santiago Paez. "He was outstanding."
