Tijuana got a terrific performance from pitcher Doug Mahoney, but it wasn't enough to beat the Watford City Trash Pandas. Watford City won the Toros Ballpark contest, 2-1. Mahoney threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Jorge Gonzáles, the winner, improved to 2-5. He held Tijuana to 1 run on 4 hits over 5.1 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Francisco Sánchez nailed down his 8th save.
António Moreno had a critical at-bat with no one out in the top of the sixth for Watford City. He came through with a solo home run to put Watford City in front, 2-0.
"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Moreno said.
The Trash Pandas raised their record to 13-27.
