The Maine Sea Dogs had to overcome a big game from Plattsburgh first baseman Hayden Balsdon to leave Sea Dogs Park with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-5. Balsdon was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner in relief was Haden Manning. He is now 2-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4 innings. Picking up the save was Jeff Robinson, his 3rd.

The Puffer Fish had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Sea Dogs going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old left fielder Michael Payne came to the plate. Payne hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch fastball from Plattsburgh hurler Mark Moore. It was Payne's 3rd double of the year.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Payne. "You've got to get results."

Maine is now 17-24.
