Watford City Wins, 3-1, in Extra Innings
|
The Watford City Trash Pandas in 10 innings beat the Surprise Shockers, 3-1, at Shockers Field. Starting pitcher Wayne Horne was a major factor, holding his opponents in check all game. Poto Bagliani, 1-5, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The Trash Pandas improved their record to 15-27 by beating Surprise.
Watford City used the timely hitting of Orlando López to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Trash Pandas on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Wayne's a trooper," said Watford City manager Dong-hwan Namgung. "He always gives it all he's got."
