Crowds lined up early in front of Kittie Park, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2061 M3L Low A season. On the mound was Art Lamplighter for the visiting North Ft. Myers Gators and Gijsbert Arents for the hometown Bethlehem Angel Kitties. In a spirited contest, the Gators pulled out the win, defeating the Angel Kitties by the score of 5-4. Especially impressive was Chris Thomas. Chris Pate picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Pedro Duarte suffered the loss. Art O'Rourke picked up the save, his 1st.

North Ft. Myers used the hitting of Juan Díaz to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Gators on top, 5-4. For the game, Díaz had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Díaz. "And not try to do too much."
