Octopi Earn 1-0 Win Versus Baby Lakers
|
Ogallala got a first-rate effort from pitcher Wes Crowe, who frustrated Bompton hitters en route to a 1-0 Octopi triumph at Field of the Browns. Jonathon Ratzlaff earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Ogallala is 4th in the Silver Low A with a record of 24-19.
Tom Howard's at-bat with no one out in the top of the ninth was critical. The Ogallala shortstop hit a sacrifice fly, to put his team on top, 1-0. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.
"Wes was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Ogallala manager Dewitt Hopper.
