Shady Side registered a win at Flint Park by beating the Flint Crush, 8-3. Pitcher Xaavier Clemons was one reason why the Zoomies triumphed. Clemons, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 2 walks. The Zoomies now have a record of 23-20.

Shady Side used the hitting of Ken Quesada to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Zoomies on top, 6-1. For the game, Quesada had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Xaavier was good -- real good," said Zoomies manager Ralph Gilbert.
