Toros Hand Ogallala 7-5 Loss
|
The Tijuana Toros beat the Ogallala Octopi, 7-5, at Toros Ballpark. The Toros got a fine performance from pinch hitter António Muñóz, who was 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Doug Mahoney, the winner, improved to 4-2. He held Ogallala to 4 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Michael Duffy picked up the save, his 5th.
Muñóz contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Tijuana in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-3, Muñóz took a slider from Jonathon Ratzlaff and stroked the home run to right-center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Toros to leap in front, 7-4.
"Slowly but surely, the wins are piling up," said Muñóz.
Tijuana has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
