Surprise got a valiant performance from pitcher Craig Jacobs, but it wasn't enough to beat the Memphis Music. Memphis won the game, 3-2. Jacobs threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. With the win, the Music improved to 17-28.

Miguel García clinched the win with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth. In the game, the Memphis left fielder drove in one run.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager José Montalópez.
