Flanderses Capture Close Win
The Hudsonville Flanderses beat the Northwest Territory Beavers, 6-5, in 10 innings at Hudsonville Park. Kung-zheng Ta, in particular, was impressive. He went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Reliever Don Wichman picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Tim Evans took the loss. The second-place Flanderses bumped their record to 27-18.

Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, slick-fielding third baseman Seung-jae Yi had a chance to be the hero. Northwest Territory pitcher Hua Wang wanted to foil that plan. But with two outs, Yi drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Flanderses had themselves a thrilling win.

"This house was rockin'," Yi said.
