Greenport got a strong outing from Bretislav Smaczny as the Harbor Whales defeated the Ballard Beavers, 13-1, at Ballpark of Robbins. Smaczny got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Harbor Whales raised their record to 2-0.

The Harbor Whales got a big hit from pinch hitter Ying-hua Dong. Facing Ballard pitcher Sarfaraz Mohmand in the bottom of the eighth, Dong pounded a grand slam home run to left. His 1st home run of the season put the Harbor Whales ahead, 13-1.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Dong.
