Philadelphia Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Philadelphia Liberty U-21 got a stellar effort from pitcher Pedro Mejía, helping Philadelphia score a win over the visiting Surprise Shockers, 5-2, in 10 innings. Philadelphia is now 39-9, 9½ games up in the Silver Low A.
Philadelphia won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Harlan MacKnight on the mound for Surprise, second baseman Nick Jacobs hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Liberty U-21 fans to their feet.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Surprise manager José Montalópez.
