Snowpeople Suffer 9-5 Loss to Interns
|
The Capital Hill Interns weathered an outstanding game by Ellesmere Island center fielder Bob Ryan to topple the Snowpeople, 9-5. Ryan went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Kuniaki Rin came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. With the win, Capital Hill climbs to 2-1.
Tied up with the Snowpeople in the top of the fifth inning, the Interns got a boost from catcher Tong-myeon Pak. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Pak saw a first pitch fastball from Marvin Johnson and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Capital Hill on top, 1-0.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Capital Hill manager Kyu-cheol P'yo.
