Puffer Fish Dealt 4-2 Loss by Northwest Territory
|
Northwest Territory Beavers starter Harley Wright hurled his team past the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, 4-2. Wright, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 10, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Jody Dunn earned the save for Northwest Territory.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Ismael Riddles Jr. didn't flinch. With the bases loaded and Plattsburgh trailing 4-2, Riddles Jr. retired Matthew Mathews to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Riddles Jr., with a wink.
The Beavers, now 3-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
