Rams Rally to Nose Past Hudsonville
The Ladue Rams had to overcome a good performance from Hudsonville pitcher Gary Smith to claim a 3-2 win at Ballpark of Wellsville. Smith went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Ladue reliever Paul Smerdon picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Dave Harrison took the loss. Ladue, at 29-22, sits in 5th place in the Silver Low A.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 20-year old third baseman Jim Kane had a chance to be the hero. Hudsonville pitcher Dave Harrison had other ideas. But with one out, Kane grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Rams had themselves a dramatic win.

"It's great when the crowd is energized," Kane said.
