Shady Side Zoomies starter Ogai Sugimoto found his groove in his team's 3-1 win over the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish. Richard Roche finished to wrap up his 4th save. With the win, Shady Side upped its record to 29-23.
Had Bernardo Valéncia not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Valéncia hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Zoomies.
"Bottom line," said Plattsburgh skipper Mike Carlisle, "we didn't play well enough to win."
