Shockers Dumped, 9-6, by Philadelphia
|
Bryan Miller was superb against Surprise. The right-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the SA- in wins with 6, had a sinker that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Liberty U-21 victory. The score was 9-6. Miller, now 6-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. The victory gives Philadelphia a record of 31-22.
Philadelphia got a big at-bat from Pueblo Nuevo Viñas, Guatemala native Roberto Pérez, who in the top of the third hit a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Liberty U-21 ahead, 4-0.
"We maximized our offense today," said Philadelphia skipper Santiago Paez. "That makes everyone's life easier."
