The Surprise Shockers got a magnificent effort from pitcher Bartolo Martínez, who kept Shady Side hitters in check en route to a 3-0 Shockers win at Shockers Field. Bobby Griffin closed out the game, earning his 9th save. Surprise has now reeled off 6 straight wins.

It was an impressive outing from the soft-spoken Martínez, who tallied 4 strikeouts in 7.2 innings and allowed only 3 hits. Martínez, who is rated as the 40th best prospect by BNN, raised his record to 3-0 on the year with 18 strikeouts.
