The performance of Mitch Swing proved critical in helping Ft. Worth beat Philadelphia, 5-4, in 12 innings. The Cattlemen left fielder was 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Ft. Worth currently is in third place in the Silver League at 21-18.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 12th. With one out, Swing hit a fastball from Dick Hill for a run-scoring single. The Cattlemen, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
