The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish picked up a win at Ballpark of Liberty, dropping the Philadelphia Liberty U-21, 4-2. Ben Lane, who is tied for 4th in the SA- with a 2.09 ERA, was the difference-maker. The win was credited to 21-year old right-handed pitcher Lou Anderson in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Robbie de Groot took the loss. The 5th-place Puffer Fish now sit at 31-27.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Hayden Balsdon? The 21-year old second baseman Balsdon stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Plattsburgh up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Ben was really on it," said Plattsburgh manager Mike Carlisle. "He's got a feel for playing with the hitter front-to-back, side-to-side."
