Liberty U-21 Rally Late to Nip Puffer Fish
The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Vern Peña into a win. Instead, the Philadelphia Liberty U-21 prevailed, 4-3. Peña threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. Philadelphia is now 34-25.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Philadelphia. That's when Ross Brice hit a run-scoring double off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Lou Anderson to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

Brice called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
