Hounds Lose By a Run at Beaumont
Beaumont shortstop Jed Dye was instrumental in helping the Crossbeaus triumph, 5-4, over the Hicksville Hounds. Dye went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Beaumont starter Earl DeGraw was credited with the win after throwing 111 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 6-4. At 31-28, the Crossbeaus find themselves in 4th place in the Silver Low A.

Early in the game, Dye had a 2-run home run for Beaumont. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Crossbeaus on top, 3-1.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Hicksville manager Art Manning. "But we decided not to take it."
