Music Squelch Shockers Offense in Shutout Win
|
Conditions were not ideal but Memphis and Surprise were able to put their game in the books.
Memphis Music pitcher Mike Sherman was in top form, leading his team past the Surprise Shockers, 5-0. Memphis now owns a record of 29-30.
Tied up with the Shockers in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Music got a boost from first baseman Jorge Ramírez. With the bases loaded, Ramírez saw a 2-2 sinker from Bartolo Martínez and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Memphis on top, 1-0.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Memphis manager Omar Casteneda.
