Pittsburgh Loss Takes Shine Off Anderson Performance
Though he had a terrific game, Brian Anderson could not prevent his team, the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, from absorbing a loss. Colorado won the game, 7-6. Anderson was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Pete Scott came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-4. George Atwater collected save number 13.

The Billy Goats got a big hit from first baseman Phil Fields. In the bottom of the sixth, Fields smacked a 2-run double off Pittsburgh pitcher Ernest Cooley. It was his 5th double of the season. Suddenly, the Billy Goats were ahead, 7-6.

"We ground out the win," said Fields. "That's all that matters."

With the victory, the Billy Goats record stands at 19-20.
