The Long Island Ducks got a rain-soaked win over the Ladue Rams.

The Long Island Ducks downed the Ladue Rams, 1-0, at Ballpark of Wellsville. Long Island pitcher Horace McKenzie Jr. definitely brought his A-game. The win went to Tim Thompson in relief, making him now 1-0. António Mendoza took the loss for Ladue.

Max Thompson had a direct impact on the outcome. Thompson contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Long Island up, 1-0.

"Good teams find a way to win close games," McKenzie Jr. said.

The Ducks raised their record to 5-4.
