Richie Ayala, who is rated as the 81st best prospect by BNN, propelled his team to victory over the Long Island Ducks. The final score was 5-1, Napanee. Ayala, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Scott Bates picked up his 5th save of the season.
Napanee got a big at-bat from Paradise, Nevada native Jim Henry, who in the bottom of the first hit a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Express ahead, 3-0.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Ayala.
At 7-3, the Express have played well so far.
