Surprise Stopped, 4-3, by Bompton
|
The Bompton Baby Lakers picked up a win at Field of the Browns, downing the Surprise Shockers, 4-3. On the mound for Bompton was right-hander Leonard Sheppard, who played a pivotal role in the win. Sheppard yielded 1 run over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 9-2. Kurt Morse closed it out for Bompton, earning his 6th save.
Jack Mills dealt the Shockers a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Bompton leading 2-0, Mills hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run single.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Bompton manager Tyrone Poole.
Bompton is sailing along at 44-21.
