Sea Dogs Prevail, 2-1, Over North Ft. Myers

Yi-da Gui pitched well, but his team, the North Ft. Myers Gators, still dropped a 2-1 decision to the Maine Sea Dogs at Dodge Field. Maine goes to 8-2.
Maine used the timely hitting of Michael Payne to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sea Dogs on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Maine manager Pedro Hernández.
