Ballpark of Henderson was the site of a true pitchers' duel.

The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, despite a fine performance by Amarillo pitcher Jimmy Numbers, grabbed a 2-0 win at Ballpark of Henderson. Numbers allowed 1 run over 6 innings. Lou Anderson earned the save for Plattsburgh, his 7th.

Plattsburgh used a timely hit from Maija Meikäläinen to get the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Puffer Fish ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Meikäläinen. "You've got to get results."

With the win, Plattsburgh raised its record to 36-31.
