The Long Island Ducks faced a tough opponent in Moose Jaw pitcher Yun Sha, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Foresters Stadium by a final score of 10-3. Sha went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Howard Chard picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Uku Willa was tagged with the loss. Long Island is now 6-5.

Long Island needed the clutch hitting of Walt Moggs to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ducks on top, 6-3. For the game, Moggs had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Ismael Barrios told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
