The Surprise Shockers weathered a fine game by Shady Side catcher Michael Cardwell to upend the Zoomies, 5-3, at Shockers Field. Cardwell was 2-3 with a home run. Harlan MacKnight earned the save, his 3rd. The Shockers improved their record to 30-39 by beating Shady Side.

With two out in the bottom of the second, Nick Chamberlain barreled up a curveball from Xaavier Clemons. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Shockers in front, 5-0.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Chamberlain told the Surprise News. "But we take nothing for granted."
