Trash Pandas Handed 3-1 Loss
|
In a low-scoring contest, Beaumont pitcher Craig Chase was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 3-1 win. In 8 innings, Chase surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Sebastian Pease picked up the save for Beaumont, his 16th of the year.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Crossbeaus had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when first baseman Gui-fan Leong hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Santiago García and made the score 2-1, Crossbeaus. Leong went 1 for 4.
"Makes our job easier," said Leong, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
The 7th-place Crossbeaus improved to 30-39.
