The Ballard Beavers and Ladue Rams obliged fans looking for a good time.

The Ballard Beavers besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Ladue first baseman Rafael Fernández by beating the Rams, 9-8, at The Beaver Dam. Fernández was 2-3 with a home run and 3 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ballard reliever Alonso Forado picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jorge Pinto was saddled with the loss. Jesse Seals earned save number 4 this season.

Ballard took the lead, 9-7, on Marc Maron's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Ladue pitcher Jorge Pinto in the bottom of the seventh.

"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Ballard skipper Giddy Potts.

The win gives Ballard a record of 7-5.
