Crossbeaus Win at Hudsonville, 3-2
|
The Beaumont Crossbeaus earned a close win over the Hudsonville Flanderses, thanks in part to Jang-jin Na. The Beaumont right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the SA- in strikeouts with 84, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Na, now 6-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The win gives Beaumont a season record of 39-31.
Beaumont used a well-timed hit by Timmy Derp to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Crossbeaus ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Jang-jin was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Beaumont manager Ángel Macías.
