Capital Hill got a strong outing from Brian Gibson as the Interns defeated the Moose Jaw Canucks, 1-0, at Alouettes Ballpark. Reliever Pedro Puglisi picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. José Machado took the loss. The loss drops the Canucks to 1-12.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 19-year old center fielder Steve Ferrell had a chance to be the hero. Moose Jaw pitcher Nobuyoki Nii wanted to foil that plan. But with two outs, Ferrell got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run. The Interns had themselves a thrilling win.

"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Gibson told the Capital Hill Daily News.
