Sea Dogs Win Squeaker, 6-5, Over Liberty U-21
|
Philadelphia got a valiant performance from pitcher Nick Jacobs, but it wasn't enough to beat the Maine Sea Dogs. Maine won the game, 6-5. Jacobs threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Picking up his 8th save was 20-year old right-handed pitcher Jeff Robinson. The Sea Dogs improved their record to 29-43 by beating Philadelphia.
Maine went up, 6-5, on Albert Wilson's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Wilson hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Philadelphia pitcher Martín Machado feeling deflated.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Wilson told a Maine Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
