In a tight affair between the Napanee Express and the Greenport Harbor Whales, pitcher Manny Mejía was in the zone. The Napanee right-hander helped his team win the game, 1-0. Napanee reliever Scott Bates picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Fernando Rodríguez was saddled with the loss. The win gives Napanee a record of 8-5.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Napanee catcher Robert Wright, facing Fernando Rodríguez, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Express the 1-0 win.

"Manny made some big pitches when he needed to," said Express manager Dan Bond.
