Shockers Earn Late Win
|
The Surprise Shockers did just enough to sneak past the Maine Sea Dogs, 1-0, at Sea Dogs Park. Surprise pitcher Arvin Lawton, in particular, had a standout performance. Lawton got the win, improving to 5-3. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. He allowed no runs. The losing skid has reached 7 games for Maine.
Surprise went up, 1-0, on Jeffrey Ramírez's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Ramírez hit in the top of the eighth, left Maine pitcher Niek Proeme shaking his head.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Surprise manager Geoffroy Cadaloba.
