Surprise pitcher Christian Craigen had a large part in his team beating the Philadelphia Liberty U-21, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Harlan MacKnight sewed up the save, his 4th. The Shockers improved their record to 32-42 with the win over Philadelphia.

Pedro Rey aided the Surprise cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter was 2 for 4 with a double.

Rey called it "a solid win."
