The Maine Sea Dogs finished off the Ladue Rams, 7-1. Much of the credit belonged to shortstop Scott Patterson. Patterson went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Sea Dogs. César Trevino, 2-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3.2 innings. Maine, at 13-2, is off to a blistering start.

The Sea Dogs got an important contribution from center fielder Xiao-mei Zhai, who in the bottom of the fourth knocked a 0-2 fastball to left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Sea Dogs ahead, 3-1.

"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Maine skipper Pedro Hernández.
