Shady Side got a valiant performance from pitcher Edgar Vásquez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Memphis Music. Memphis won the game, 6-2. Vásquez threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The 'W' lifts Memphis's record to 38-39.

Henry Trommel came through with a big-time hit for Memphis. The first baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We didn't play well enough to win," Shady Side skipper Ralph Gilbert said.
